Mickey and Minnie Inspired T-Shirts on Cricut

Mickey and Minnie Inspired
I was inspired by one of my favorite DIYer Auntie Tay to make Mickey and Minnie Inspired T-Shirts on Cricut. She has a cut file that is similar to the one I made and if you become one of her Disney Patreons you could get that cut file. I could have easily used her cut file and be done with this project. Instead, I wanted to make my own and used the Disney Tsum Tsum Cartridge. My first attempt to make these I used Auntie Tay’s Disney Castle cut file. But in this post, I used a Castle from Cricut Access. All pictures shown are from Cricut Design Space on the iPad. I enjoy working on all platforms of Cricut Design Space, but I do love working on the iPad because I can work from anywhere where I have WiFi. Before I start with the directions for the Mickey and Minnie Inspired t-shirts on Cricut, let me tell you what digital files I used on Cricut Design Space.

Mickey and Minnie Inspired T-Shirts on Cricut – Digital Files:

  • Tsum Tsum Mickey Mouse – Disney Tsum Tsum Cartridge
  • Tsum Tsum Minnie Mouse – Disney Tsum Tsum Cartridge
  • Sunglasses – Groovy Times Cartridge
  • Castle – Wrap it up Cartridge or Auntie Tay’s Disney Patreon
  • Circle Shape
  • Square Shape

Directions for the Mickey and Minnie Inspired T-Shirts on Cricut:

Open Cricut Design Space and start a new project. Select Image and in the search bar type in Tsum Tsum. Insert Tsum Tsum Mickey Mouse and Tsum Tsum Minnie Mouse. Ungroup both images and separate all the images. Keep Minnie’s white bow, Minnie’s pink face, Minnie’s head, Mickey’s beige face, and Mickey’s head. You may delete or hide the rest of the images because you will not be needed it anymore.tsum tsum mickey and minnie tsum tsum mickey and minnie faces

Starting with Mickey, select Mickey’s head and face and slice these images by using the Slice function. Do the same with Minnie and don’t include the bow. Cricut only allows you to slice two images together. Separate the images and delete Mickey and Minnie’s face.
Mickey and Minnie Faces
Insert the Circle shape and resize it so it covers Mickey’s eyes, nose, and part of the cheeks. Then select Mickey’s head and the circle shape and Slice the images. In the picture I sliced part of Mickey’s eyes. But don’t worry, it won’t be a problem.
Mickey's Face
Select Image and in the search bar type in sunglasses and insert the Sunglasses from Groovy Times Cartridge. You may use any sunglasses you like. Using the Sqaure shape slice out the Temples, the tiny squares attached to either side of the sunglasses. Then delete the square and Temples. Resize the sunglasses so the width fits Mickey’s head. Once the sunglasses are on top of Mickey’s head, select both images and weld them together using the Weld function.

For Minnie, select the Circle shape and resize it so it covers the eyes and nose. Then with the Slice function, slice the two images. Use the other side of the Circle shape and slice out one of Minnie’s eyes. Now, delete the nose, the right eye (your right), the sliced circle shape, and Minnie’s head.  Duplicate Mickey’s head with sunglasses and use this image to add Minnie’s eyelashes. Rotate Minnie’s left eye (your left) 40 degrees, then place it on the left side (your left) lens, leaving the lashes above the lens. Duplicate eye and flip the image Horizontally. Place the flipped image on the right (your right) lens, leaving the lashes above the lens. Select the one of the eyes and head, then used the weld function to weld the images together. Then select the other eye and head, and weld both images together.

Adding a Castle in the Lenses

At this point you can stop and cut out all the images. Or you can add a shilouette of an image and slice it in the lenses. To do this, select the image you want in the lenses, resize it to fit in the lenses, and slice out the image. For this post, I used a Castle from the Wrap it Up Cartridge. Delete all the images and leave the background castle. Inserted a Square shape, resized it so it fits across the bottom half of the Castle and covering the small hole on the right side. Select the Castle and Sqaure and weld them together. Resize the Castle so it fits in the lenses, then duplicate the Castle. Place both Castles on each lens and center it and slice out both Castles. Then do the same for Minnie Mouse.

You are done and ready to cut. You will need to resize the images so it fits your projects. For Mickey Mouse, you will just need one color of Heat Transfer Vinyl and for Minnie Mouse you will need two colors. Check out my other blog about layering heat transfer vinyl.
I am just sharing the way I created these pieces using Cricut images on Cricut Design Space. Please read the Cricut Angel Policy if you decide to make a profit with these images. Also, if you decide to become an Auntie Tay’s Pateron, please review her disclaimers on any of her digital files.
Mickey and Minnie Inspired T-shirts on Cricut was created with a few family and friends in mind. They love Disney and I wanted to make them some cool shirts. So i made these shirts and gave them as Christmas gifts for some of my friends and their families. I hope this post was not too confusing and inspired you to make some amazing Mickey and Minnie Inspired T-shirts on Cricut.
